     In 1967, Carl "Pap" Schaeffer, his wife, Fern (aka "Nana"), and their son Dennis turned their love of motorcycles into more than a hobby. In a 30'x 60', single-story building, off Route 61 in Orwigsburg, Pennsylvania, the three of them began selling, servicing, and accessorizing Harley-Davidson® motorcycles. Ken's Tire, Inc. was established April 7, 1975 by Kenenth and Dorothy Blankenhorn at 138 River Street, Cressona, Pennsylvania as a one man operation. Early in the morning and into the afternoon, Ken would deliver product to wholesale customers and would get back to the shop and retail in the evening.
